skin and hair care

For Skin

Go for a natural glow!  Make a paste of 3 parts baking soda to one part water for an effective and inexpensive skin exfoliant.  I place a small amount in the palm of my wet hands, rub it gently on my face and rinse.  It is amazing how smooth my skin feels and it’s more receptive to the olive oil I use as my moisturizer.  Make sure you avoid the eye area.  And rinse thoroughly. . Just apply it to your skin with fingertips or a washcloth in a gentle, circular motion and rinse.

I also found in researching for my site, www.organicgreenpeace.com that people were using baking soda and vinegar to wash their hair, specifically to eliminate dandruff.  Well, I tried it . . . and it works!

For Hair

Mix a tablespoon of soda with a teaspoon of vinegar, add a teaspoon of organic liquid castille soap and apply to your hair.  It softens the hair and leaves a healthier happier scalp.

17 studies on the link between green cleaning and productivity, documented a reduction in reported symptoms of asthma, flu, sick building syndrome, respiratory problems and headaches (an average improvement of 41 percent).

Sustainability starts with a switch. Not just with the changing of a light bulb or cleaning solutions, but with a fundamental shift in our stewardship of the earth’s resources—and how we regard our obligation to all life on the planet, now and for future generations.
